Terms of use
The terms for the GospelArc app. GospelArc is in development and not yet on the App Store; these terms describe how it is to be licensed once it is released.
GospelArc is in development and not yet on the App Store, so nothing is licensed or sold under these terms yet. They describe how the app is to be licensed once it is released. Warranty and liability, and the governing law, will be added before release, after legal review.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and LyteFast (“we”), whose details are at the end of this page, about the GospelArc app. They are not an agreement with Apple. By using the app you accept them.
2. Licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use GospelArc on Apple devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions allow, including where those rules provide for Family Sharing or volume purchasing. You may not copy the app except as those rules allow, reverse engineer it where the law does not allow that, or resell it.
3. The app and its content
GospelArc is a study tool for reading Scripture beside historical sources. It needs no account.
- Bible text. The Bible text is an existing edition that we do not own. The app’s Bible Text & Licenses screen names the edition, its licence and what was changed in laying it out.
- Study material. Journeys, explanations, dossiers, connections and recall questions were written for GospelArc and are editorial. They are paraphrase and interpretation, and they can contain errors. They are for study. They are not professional, legal, medical or pastoral advice, and they are not the teaching of any church. No church, religious institution or Bible publisher has endorsed GospelArc.
- Review status. The study content is machine-drafted and has not yet had human historical or theological review. While that is so, the app shows an “Editorial draft” note on its study screens.
Apple does not endorse the app or any interpretation in it.
4. Purchases
The app is to offer one optional in-app purchase, the Expanded Journey Library. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it adds the Bible journeys and recall questions listed on the purchase screen. Its price will be the one the App Store shows at the time; no price has been set yet.
Apple processes the payment, and refunds are requested from Apple under its rules. Restore Purchases is meant to recover a purchase on another device that uses the same Apple Account. Your consumer rights, including any right to withdraw from a purchase, are unaffected.
5. What you write
Your notes, routes and other material stay yours. They are stored on your device, and we do not receive them. You are responsible for keeping your own copies, for what you choose to export or share, and for any route file you choose to import. See the privacy policy.
6. Links to other sites
Source links open websites we do not control. Those pages belong to their publishers, can change or disappear, and have their own terms. A link does not grant you any right to reuse a page, and it does not mean that the site’s publisher endorses GospelArc.
7. Other agreements
You must follow any third-party agreement that applies when you use the app, such as your network provider’s.
8. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it, or affects the rights that consumer law gives you.
9. Apple
You and we acknowledge the following:
- Parties. This agreement is between you and us only, not Apple. We alone, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Maintenance and support. We alone provide any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide either.
- Warranty. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, that you paid for the app. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claim, loss or cost from a failure to meet a warranty is our responsibility, to the extent these terms do not validly exclude it.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims by you or a third party about the app or your use of it, including product liability, failure to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right, and is taken to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
10. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting the app. Your licence ends if you break these terms.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page changes with them.
